Find your Moment on the water

At Satori Anglers, our mission is to inspire mindful connection with nature through exceptional fishing experiences-where every cast brings clarity, adventure, and a deeper appreciation for the water and the wild.

Satori Anglers

Satori Anglers is based out of Jackson, Wyoming. Owned and operated by Ryan Mertaugh, with 20 years of guiding experience in and around the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. With a multitude of options, from first time fly anglers to those head hunting that fish of a lifetime, Satori Anglers has an adventure for you. We are fortunate to be based in a location that gives us access to four major river systems, the Snake River, the Salt River, the Green River and the New Fork River, as well as Lewis Lake and Yellowstone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. We would love to have the opportunity to set up your trip of a lifetime.

Common Questions

What should I bring?

Please bring clothing layers that you can easily add to or take away from throughout the day. Wyoming is known for drastic temperature swings and weather changes so being able to adjust your temperature throughout the day is key. Also, a hat and sunglasses are a must on the water, as well as sunscreen and any medications you may need during the day.

Where do we meet?

Your guide will contact you the afternoon/evening before your trip to go over the final details for your adventure the next day and will set a time and place to meet in the morning. If you are staying in the town of Jackson we can pick you up from your location. Outside of the town of Jackson, you will most likely need to drive in to a designated meeting area set by your guide and we can transport you from there.

Do we get to keep any fish?

We practice catch and release fishing in order to protect our watershed and the fishery, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this amazing place for generations to come!

Do I need to bring food?

Only if you have specific dietary needs, otherwise if you are on a full day trip your guide will provide lunch and drinks, and on the half day trips your guide will have snacks and drinks as well. The only thing not provided by your guide is alcohol, if you would like that option, you can bring your own and we can put it in our coolers. No glass bottles please.

What time will we be back?

Our full day fishing adventures last 8 hours door to door, so it depends on your start time, but if you have specific time constraints let your guide know the night before when they call you so that you can all plan accordingly.

How much should I tip my guide?

The average tip for a fishing trip is generally around 20% of the total trip fee.
